TLS 1.2 Readiness Tool can update your system and make it ready for TLS 1.2. You can access it from QuickBooks Tool Hub. Earlier users had to download the stand-alone application version of QuickBooks Tool hub, but the recent QB application has it as an inbuilt tool. The steps you need to follow to run TLS 1.2 Readiness Tool are:

  • Run QuickBooks Tool Hub application and tap on Installation Issues.
  • From the bottom right corner, Choose QuickBooks TLS 1.2 Tool.
  • Click on OK to run the TLS Tool and tap on Yes for the EULA Agreement.
  • Click on Run and wait for the tool to complete its process.
  • Finally click on Exit.

Solution 2: Set Internet Explorer as Default Browser

QuickBooks use Internet Explorer in the background to run online services. QuickBooks error message TLS 1.2 can pop up on your screen if you have some other web browser, and it is set as the default browser. The steps you need to follow to set Internet Explorer as the default browser are:- 

  • Run Internet Explorer and ensure that it is configured.
  • Now, tap on the Gear icon and select Internet Options.

  • Press the Windows Start button and type in Internet Explorer.
  • Double-tap on Internet Explorer and click on the gear icon in the top right corner.
  • Click on About Internet Explorer and then tick mark box next to Install new versions automatically.

Solution 4: Change Internet Explorer Settings

Unfavourable Internet Explorer Settings is one possible reason for QuickBooks TLS Error. These are the steps you need to follow in order to set it as per your requirements:- 

  • Run Internet Explorer and tap on Tools.
  • Choose Internet Options and then go to the General tab and choose Delete.
  • Choose Temporary Internet files and tap on Delete.

NOTE: Make sure you don’t delete cookies.

  • Go to the Connections tab and choose LAN settings.
    • Tick mark the box next to Automatically Detect Settings.
    • Ensure that Proxy Servers are blank if you don’t use one.
    • Then click on OK twice.
  • Go to the advanced menu scroll down
    • Tick mark SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0.
    • If marked, clear the box next to Check for publisher’s certificate.
  • Now go to the Advanced tab and scroll down
    • Ensure that TLS 1.2 is not marked and clear the box if it is.
